History

Founded in 1936 by Henri Marchadour, Hema has been a leader in the design and manufacture of wet / liquid filling machines and packaging machines.  In 1939, the company launched the first rotary piston filler on the market for sauces and jams, followed in 1960 by the first linear piston filler for pate, securing the company's reputation for innovation and expertise.

By the 1990's, Hema fillers had become increasingly hygienic to meet demanding market requirements, and by the early 2000's, with the development of weight filling technology, the company established a leadership position for liquid filling machines.

Subsequent introductions have included members of the Quatro filler line, which rapidly became flagship products in both the liquid dairy and edible oils markets.

Hema was acquired by Barry-Wehmiller in 2015 and is an integral part of the Pneumatic Scale Angelus family.
